Is it possible to get narrow-spectrum LED strip lights?

In my Biology department, we are trying to do some photosynthesis experiments. Is it possible to get narrow-spectrum LED lights? for example, a light almost entirely in the 450–475 range and another in the 650–670 range?

While we are unfortunately unable to provide custom fabrication for LED Strip Lights emitting a certain bandwidth, we do have some options in our catalog that we might recommend.

As a primary option, we have the SimpleColor™ Blue LED Strip Lights available, which output royal blue 460nm light at 88 lumens per foot. Unfortunately, the closest match in our catalog to the referenced 650–670 range would be the SimpleColor™ Red LED Strip Lights, which output a saturated red 630nm light at 161 lumens per foot.

If you would prefer one product that is capable of outputting any combination of the visible color spectrum, you may also be interested in our FilmGrade™ FiveSpect 5-in-1 LED Strip Lights. Please note that this product will require a connected DMX Decoder or third-party controller for the adjustment of each channel.

Is there a primer on how to work with these LED light strips? I see that simple blue and simple green LED strips will hit the peaks I am looking for, but I am not sure how to cut and join them as this is new to me. I also see that the film grade 5-spec can peak around the 660 range. I am also not sure how the controller works for that setup.

We have several pages on our website dedicated to getting started with LED Strip Lights, including instructions on how to use the connectors. We have attached those links below, which we hope prove to be helpful for you.

The DMX Dimmer and Decoder is a product that is most often used for the control of multi-channel RGBW networked lights that are directed by a DMX Controller such as the American DJ myDMX 3.0 DMX

That said, there are alternative third-party IR/WiFi controllers available from marketplaces such as Amazon. These products generally would not require additional hardware and are often able to be wired directly to the LED Strip Lights. Many of the products found in my own search are able to utilize remotes for operation, as well.
