Full Color Gamut
Bicolor white LED systems are comprised of two types of LEDs - warm white (tungsten) and cool white (daylight). By adjusting the relative amounts of the two channels, different white color temperatures can be achieved. The range of color, however, is limited to white color points that chromatically lie between the two color points.
RGB LED systems, on the other hand, can achieve an impressive range of color. By adjusting the relative amounts of light from each of the red, green and blue channels, a wide range of colors - both saturated and desaturated, including white - can be seamlessly created.
By incorporating the RGB emitters into the same white LED package, the FiveSpect LED systems are able to achieve full color in combination with the high quality white emitters.

Full Emission Spectrum
Despite the excellent color gamut that an RGB LED system can achieve, using them to create white light results in an inferior spectrum. Because RGB LEDs are narrow band sources, they are not at all well suited to create white light, which, by definition requires a wide bandwidth spectral emission.
Waveform's native white LEDs, on the other hand, are full spectrum emitters with ultra high CRI and R9 values.
With both RGB, tungsten and daylight combined in a single LED package, now you don't have to choose between color rendering and color saturation. You can have both.
