Finally! A true replacement for tungsten
This updated, 2019 flicker-free version of Waveform's A19 bulb is the first LED bulb I could ever find to fulfill all the promises of a true replacement for tungsten: • High CRI • Actual warm color (2700K = regular, 3000K = "daylight" still nice and warm) • No flicker whatsoever • Truly as bright as claimed • Completely quiet Other bulbs I tried failed on at least one of those 5 points. Most have an unnatural color or aren't very bright. ALL flicker horribly, which gives me headaches instantly. Some, including Waveform's previous-generation A19s, make a slight "hissing" noise which is unsuitable for a bedroom or quiet home office. Brand new, these bulbs are also a bit brighter than typical 60W tungstens, and this is actually good planning on Waveform's part: LEDs naturally lose brightness over the years and they want these to last a long time. They should drop from 800 Lumens to a still respectable 560 Lumens after 25,000 hours, according to the "L70" spec. Even for my home office used 7 days a week, this means I should expect at least 7 years out of them. Given that Waveform's 6-pack is priced competitively (cheaper than tungsten if you factor in their longevity!), I am now recommending them to everyone I know as a better energy saving bulb than anything in local stores."
