A simple, versatile solution
These have been a quick and easy way to add light to the dark spots in my home. Over and under kitchen cabinets, behind the lip on my wall unit, replacing old fluorescent fixtures in the closets... There are many possibilities. Attach a small piece of metal to potential mounting locations in your room with 3M Command strips, clip the included magnetic attachment to the fixture, and now you've got a sturdy, yet easily repositionable line of high-quality light. It takes very little thought and time to get an excellent result: find dark spot, place fixture. Here are some photos of a temporary mount I tossed together while testing different lighting positions. Definitely an amateur's work, but hopefully you can see 1) the dramatic improvement and 2) how easy and non-destructive it is to put up and take down."
