I have seasonal affective disorder and am very sensitive to light. I felt better with just one 6500K BR30 bulb. It was dramatic. Since I had room for six bulbs in the six ceiling fixtures that are in the kitchen where I spend much of my time due to it being where my laptop is, I decided to purchase six 3000K BR30 bulbs for those fixtures. The 3000K color temperature is said to be ideal for a kitchen, while the 6500K is said to be harsher. I returned the one 6500K bulb, but soon realized I liked the uplifting effect of the 6500K color temperature. So, I am going to buy six 6500K BR30 bulbs when they are back in stock and place them in track lighting fixtures, while keeping the six 3000K bulbs in the six ceiling fixtures. Then I will have lighting for all seasons and for all types of weather and can turn the 6500K bulbs on and off as if they are SAD therapy lights. I am happy with the 3000K bulbs and with their placement. And, yes, I have had SAD therapy lights before. Three different ones."
