Does the Aluminum Channel modify the light temperature, lumens, or anything else?
On the peak winter days, there are only about 4 hours of daylight. I’m looking at the LED flex lights to line one ceiling side with your Aluminum channel. Does this channel modify the light temperature, lumens, or anything else I should consider? I keep going between 3,000 and 5,000 temperatures and just don’t know what would be best.
We are happy to confirm that the aluminum channels do not affect the light output, though the diffusion cover will reduce overall transmission by roughly 10%.
While we generally recommend 2700K and 3000K color temperatures for residential installations, it sounds as though daylight color points might be a better fit for your purposes considering the limited daylight hours available.
As such, we would likely recommend the 5000K for neutral balanced daylight color, or alternatively 6500K for true matching of north-facing daylight.
