Can I mount flush the Shop Light Fixture into the ceiling?
I’m interested in buying this product and had some questions about it. I see that this hangs by a chain, I need to mount it flush with my ceiling. Is there a workaround to do so?
For starters, we can confirm that the LED shop light fixtures are intended to be installed using the hook and chain. That said, we have also heard of customers who have installed the fixture by mounting it to a surface using the hook-holes on the top of the fixture.
As an alternative, you may also be interested in the NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixtures. These products come in 2 ft and 4 ft sizes and can be easily installed using the included screw brackets or magnets. Additionally, these fixtures are available in the same 5000K & 6500K color temperature options as the LED shop lights, and can also be daisy-chained or interlocked for power.
Regarding the hanging fixture - if I were to place two to make an 8ft. Length, how much of a gap would there be between them? Do they daisy chain and if not, would there be a significant break in lighting where they touch due to the frame or edges?
My current art studio has 2 4 ft lights each at 4000 lumens. I need the cumulative lumens to be 8000. If I were to consider the alternative light you suggested, how many strips would it take to make an equivalent?
As the LED Shop Light Fixtures connect using a pre-included power cable, we would assume that the distance between two units could be adjusted depending on the available lengths of the power cords and the hanging location.
That said, as these lights do not directly interlock as the linear light fixtures are capable of, there would likely be a moderate gap between the two to accommodate for the pull cord at the end of each fixture.
We estimate that the 8000-lumen target can be achieved with four 4-ft units (outputting 1800 lumens each) and one 2-ft unit (outputting 800 lumens) of the NorthLux™ 95 CRI T5 LED Linear Light Fixture.
I don’t think I quite understand how that 2 ft light would laid out with the other 4 bulbs?
As can be seen at the bottom of the product specification sheet, both the 2-ft and 4-ft linear lights contain the same interlocking power plugs (labeled as integrated plugs). As such, they can be easily connected to create a bank of linear lights.
